Community Advocate, Asian Law Caucus
Winnie’s commitment to serving young women and girls was apparent from an early age. Her experiences as an immigrant from China drove her resolve to advocate for young women and girls, especially those from immigrant backgrounds. As a teen, Winnie served on the program funding committee of The Women’s Foundation and was the youngest member of its Board of Directors, holding her own among many established women leaders.
Winnie’s language skills in Cantonese, Mandarin and Toishanese served her well as a bi-lingual teacher’s aide for the San Francisco Unified School District and she volunteers as consultant/translator at San Francisco’s ZEUM. Currently, she serves as Community Advocate for the Asian Law Caucus, where she works to ensure the rights of low-income, immigrant, monolingual seniors and Asian Pacific Islanders and is on the Board of Director’s of The League of Women Voters, San Francisco.
