In 1994, Mimi was named Director of Public Affairs at KGO-TV where she drives the station’s public affairs policy. Her accomplishments include producing the half-hour specials “Profiles in Excellence,” highlighting achievements of Bay Area African Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, and Latinos/Hispanics. She is a recipient of the 2004 Regional Emmy Awards for “Beyond The Headlines: Youth & Steroids,” and a 2003 Regional Emmy for “Profiles in Excellence: Asian American.”

This 1997 graduate of U.C. Berkeley started her media career at KGO as Programming Production Assistant, moving up to Manager of Community Relations in 1999 before being promoted to her current position. Mimi serves on the boards of the Asian Women’s Shelter and Oakland Asian Students Education Services and served as president of Bay Area Public Affairs Directors from 2001 – 2005. Her position and accomplishments make her a significant voice in community issues and setting an agenda for public affairs in the influential world of media.
