HISTORY
The Pacific Asian American Women Bay Area Coalition (PAAWBAC)
was founded in 1980 by women representing Chinese, Chomorro,
Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Samoan, Tongan, Vietnamese
and other Asian and Pacific communities to represent the interests
of Pacific and Asian American women.
Since its inception, PAAWBAC has continued to support programs
and seminars of relevance to Pacific Asian women in areas such
as career advancement, relationships, educational equity, health
care, business/economic development, risk-taking, and political
empowerment.
PAAWBAC continues to network with concerned individuals, members
of other community organizations and leaders in the community
to address issues affecting Asian and Pacific women and our
communities.
